Girl Trafficking Racket Busted by Odisha Police, 2 Minors Rescued From Rajasthan, 6 Arrested
Sundargarh: Personnel of the Kutra police station in Odisha’s Sundargarh district busted a racket that was trafficking women from Odisha to Rajasthan.
Six persons involved in the women trafficking racket were arrested. The arrested persons included two from Rajasthan.
The police investigation led to the rescue of two minor girls from Rajasthan. According to reports, in October 2023, a tribal girl went missing from the Kutra police station area of Sundargarh district. In May 2024, the missing girl called up her home urging her family to rescue her. Her family lodged a complaint with the police.
A nine-member team led by Rajgangpur SDPO initiated investigation and traced the mobile call to rescue the minor from the Bara district of Rajasthan. The minor is eight months pregnant. The police also rescued another minor from the Rayagada district.
