Ganja Worth Rs 10 Cr Seized In Koraput From Truck On Way To Rajasthan
Malkangiri: Cannabis worth around Rs 10 crore was seized by the police in Malkangiri district while it was being smuggled out from the Buding forests in the district to Rajasthan.
Acting on intelligence reports, personnel of the Padua police station in the Koraput district intercepted the truck.
The contraband loaded onto the truck was hidden behind saplings as the vehicle falsely claimed to be transporting plant saplings.
According to police sources, the huge amount of ganja seized from the truck was worth Rs 3 crore in local market and its value can reach over Rs 10 crore in other states.
The truck’s driver has been taken into custody for further investigation. Another person in the truck managed to escape.
