GANJA SMUGGLERS THRASH COPS IN MALKANGIRI (!)

MALKANGIRI: A home guard succumbed to the injuries inflicted after allegedly being thrashed by a group of ganja smugglers near Chaulimendi under Balimela police limits in Malkangiri district last night.

According to reports, scores of smugglers (over 70) disguised as kanwariyas were carrying cannabis. However, they were intercepted by police near Chaulimendi for search.

Following this, the accused persons attacked the cops in a bid to escape the spot during which home guard Banabasi Maharana was injured.

On the other hand, taking advantage of the night and the chaotic situation the ganja mafias fled the spot.

Meanwhile, Maharana was rescued and rushed to the Mathili Hospital. However, he succumbed to the injuries after his health condition deteriorated according to Hospital source.
