Berhampur:On reaction of complaints regarding burglary in the areas of Nimakhandi,Police Station a case was registered vide NimakhandiP.S.Case No.311 dt.21.9.2023 U/s 457/380 IPC. and investigation was initiated.”
Notably,on the report of Kali Charan Panda s/o late Dandapani Panda of BijayaVihar 3d Line, PS. Nimakhandi, the case was registered. Who alleged that in the intervening night of 20/21.9.2023 some unknown culprits have committed burglary of his residential house and the culprits have looted gold ornaments more than 400 grams and silver ornaments of more than 400 grams.
Since number of burglary cases were reported in Berhampur Town, by the direction of S.P.,Berhampur a Special team was formed by I.I.C.,Nimakhandi P.S. including S.I.JR.Behera, HG. Aju Kumar Sahu, HG.Prasanta Malan, HG JyotiRanjam Malan, HG ManojSahuand HGMitu Pradhan under the direct supervision of S.D.P.O.,Sadar.
Today SP,Berhampur,Dr.Sarvana Vivek,M, while briefing to Media said,due to sincere efforts, clue was obtained. On the basis of clue, the main culprit Sania Gouda ofOld Berhampur was apprehended and he was thoroughly interrogated.
The accused persons were idnetified as; Sania Gouda (47) s/o late Abhi Gouda of Nilanchala Sahi, Old Berhampur PS Badabzar( burglar) involved in series of cases earlier.,Mohan Padhy (55) s/o late RaghunathPadhy of Lxminarayan Nagar PS. Bnpur( Manager Moothut Finnce Branch Sanabazar Berhampur),SantoshGaikwada (30)s/o Laxman Gaikwad of Behendwede PS. Bita Dist. Sangli ( Mahaasta) At /present Sana bazar chhak PS. Badabazar.( Receiver and melting the stolen gold ornaments )
Surenda Mahapatra (36) late SaratMahapata of Nu Goudasahi Old Berhmpur PS. Badabazar( Receiver of Silver ornaments).
Police have successfully recovered the followings from their possession.
Small melted khadi size gold – 290.790 grams..
Gold khadi melted -517.310 grams
Gold kahdi melted-513.440 gams
One large melted gold piece-471.170 gams
Four number of gold biscuits.499.810 grams.
One large melted gold biscuits -250.810 grams.
Four number of gold coins-39.930 grams
Ear rings- 28.340 grams.
Four numbers of gold neckless -110.360 grams
Ear Rings- 17.100 grams.
Mangala sutra lockets -26.600 grams
One gold chain 12.804 grams. (Total gold 2 kg 728 grams)
Silver ornaments m-400 grams.
Cash of Rs. 26,38,500/-
During interrogatio they confessed to have committed number of Burglary cases in different P.S areas of Berhampur alogwith two out State Criminals namely, Pramod and Ramudu @ Rameya. Both of them are still at large. On the basis of the statement of accused Sania Gouda , Mohan Padhy,( Branch Manager of Muthood Finance Sana Bazarchhack) was apprehended, who assisted the accd in disposal of the stolen gold ornaments to accused.Santosh Gaikward( Manger of VIRAJ GOLD AND TESTING CENTRE at Sana Bazarchhak who was regularly receiving the stolen gold ornaments from the accused. Sania Gouda and Mohan Padhy.he said.
Accordingly raid was conducted at VIRAJ GOLD AND TESTING CENTRE at Sanabazarchhak on 2.10.2023 evening and the above gold ornaments/ melted gold and cash were seized. Similarly, the stolen silver ornaments were recovered from the receiverSurendra Mahapatra.
During investigation of the case it is established that, the accd. Sania Gouda who is a veteran antisocial of Berhampur was committing this burglaries in Berhampur town by hiring two outside State criminals namely Pramod and Ramulu @ Ramudu. Steps are on to apprehend them and others involved in the case.
As regards to the seizure of heavy amounts cash, the I.T. Department is being moved.The seized gold and silver ornaments relates to cases of Berhampur Police District;
