Talcher,(Kanhia):Gandhi Jayanti, along with Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, is observed at Deep Tarang, the Recreation Centre of NTPC Kaniha. Sh N Srinivasa Rao,Executive Director, NTPC,Kanhia graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. All employees, dependents & associates paid floral tribute to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri.
On the occasion, GM (O&M) Sh Ashok Kumar Sehgal talked about the services rendered by the Mahatma in the freedom struggle and Sh Lal Bahadur Shastri in building the modern India.
The Chief Guest Sh N Srinivasa Rao, Executive,Director,NTPC,Kanhia his speech, talked about the need for Gandhism in professional life and especially in NTPC. He emphasized the importance of Swachhta/cleanliness from the sayings of the Mahatma. He concluded the speech by acknowledging the brave decisions taken by Sh Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India.
The event is followed by the cleanliness drive of Deep Tarang premises as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada.
