Fraudster Who Duped People; In Police Custody

Bhanjanagar,(Ganjam):The Ganjam Police on Thursday arrested a man on the charges of cheating cash from Public.
The fraudster has been identified as Chandan Kumar Das(31), of village Haladi Padia PS-Laxmi Sugar. Back side of Jharapada Jail. Bhubaneswar and at present Konark Nagar near new bus stand Khurda.
Sources said,that apart from duping several persons, the accused Chandan Kumar Das had also defrauded banks to avail loans for procuring several assets.
Senior officials said The complt. U. Pradeep Ku Patra of Basudebapur, PS-Gangapur has opened an account in the IDFC bank vide A/C. No. 10077064381 having a link with registration Mobile No 6372000500 (JIO).
As the complaintat had not used said mobile number since about 1 and 1/2 years, the JIO company transferred the mobile number in the name of one Chandan Kumar Das on August 2023.
In the mean while the bank had sanctioned loan Rs. 2 lakhs to the Complt for construction of a house for which a message regarding sanction of loan was sent by the bank to the registered mobile number which is being used by the accused Chandan Das.Taking such opportunity, the accused managed to download the application of IDFC mobile banking and transferred of Rs. 82,000/- to his account and the account of his wife from 4.8.23 to 7.8.23.
During investigation, the police team of Bhanjanagar PS could able to identify the accused and seized all the cheated cash from him and handed over all the seized cash of Rs. 82,000/- to the compliantant.
In this context,Bhanjanagar Police registered a case against Chandan on dated. 10.08.2023, U/S- 379/420/34 IPC/66-C I.T. Act-2000
