Former Prof.of Berhampur University Sudarshan Acharya Passes Away

Berhampur: Former Professor of Odia at Berhampur University Sudarshan Acharya breathed due to age related at his Ashok Nagar residence here at 10 am on Thursday.
He was a scholar in Odia, Sanskrit and Telugu literature (Prof.)Acharya was conferred with the coveted Atibadi Jagannath Das award for literature for the year 2006. A versatile writer, he donned many hats that of a literary critic, translator and book editor. He has immensely contributed to the field of Odia language as a critic, translator and researcher.
As many as 27 books written by him have been published and widely acclaimed. He retired as the Head of the Department of Oriya Language and Literature of Brahmapur University.
