Committees formed to reform post covid education strategy for children

Bhubaneswar: 3rd September- A state-level recommendation committee has been constituted to address post-covid education strategy to bridge learning gaps among children in Odisha. The committee will work on to analyse policy provisions of the state government on education and suggest a solution platform for the government to adopt/implement it.

Atmashakti Trust, an NGO that runs Mission Chatasali, a community-led education initiative with its allies Odisha Shramajeebee Mancha and Mahila Shramajeebee Mancha, Odisha, has constituted the  committee.

The recommendation committee will analyse the current policy provisions of the state government, interact with government and other stakeholders and recommend on education models to address the cumulative learning loss of children in post-covid classrooms.

The recommendation committee has members namely Mr Panchanan Kanungo, Former Finance Minister of Odisha, Professor Bijay Bahidar, Senior Journalist Mr Priya Ranjan Sahu, CH Shantakar and Rakhi Ghosh, Odisha RTE Forum Convener Mr Anil Pradhan, Odisha Abhibhabaka Mahasangh President Mr Pradipta Nayak, Civil society leaders Ghasiram Panda, Sandeep Pattnaik and Sudatta Khuntia, Manoj Smantaray and Ms Ruchi Kashyap, Executive Trustee of Atmashakti Trust.
