Fire Service Week Observed at NTPC Talcher in Odisha

Talcher:Fire Service Week is being observed at NTPC Kaniha from April 14-20, 2021. The inaugural function was organized at Fire Station in a befitting manner on April 14,2021 with this year’s theme being, “Maintenance of Fire Safety Equipment is Key to Mitigate Fire Hazards”. Shri Sudip Nag, Chief General Manager (CGM), NTPC Kaniha was the chief guest of the function.

On the occasion, floral tributes were laid for the martyr’s by Shri Sudp Nag, Shri Shivam Srivastava GM (O&M), Senior Officers of management and Asst. Commandant (Fire). During the opening ceremony, two minutes of silence was observed in memory of the brave firefighters who sacrificed their lives during firefighting and a pledge was read out by A/C Fire Shri PK Deeskshit. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sudip Nag highlighted the importance of fire safety in a power station and praised the officers for their contribution towards Fire Safety.

Along with that, banners on fire safety and fire precaution were released by the CGM which will be displayed at various strategic locations of the plant and township area area for wide publicity. Saplings were also planted by everyone present. The entire function was done observing all COVID19 precautionary measures.
