FIRE AT CORONAVIRUS FACILITY IN VIJAYAWADA-7 DEAD

Vijayawada (A.P): At least seven people were killed in a fire at a hotel, which is used as a Covid-19 facility, in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada on Sunday.
All the rescued people have now been taken to a nearby hospital.
Several people are believed to be trapped at the hotel, that was used as the Covid-19 care centre.
Fire tenders brought the flames under control but, smoke surrounded the area, causing suffocation to the patients inside the rooms.
Andhra Minister Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed shock over the fire accident at the Covid-19 facility.
As per the preliminary understanding of the officials, an electric short circuit from a cable of a computer in the reception caused the fire.
Eight people were killed in a fire in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private Covid-19 designated hospital in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Thursday. Police had said the fire broke out due to a short circuit on the fourth floor of the hospital.
