FAMILY COUNSELING BY DRM RAYAGADA
Rayagada (Badal Tah): A Family counselling session was organized at Integrated Crew Lobby, Rayagada by newly appointed Divisional Railway Manager, Rayagada Shri Amitabh Singhal, wherein around 50 family members of running staff comprising Loco Pilot (LP), Asst loco pilot (ALP) & Train Manager (TMR) took active part.
DRM Rayagada explained in detail the duties & responsibilities of Loco Pilots, Assistant Loco Pilots and Train Managers. He mentioned that, running staff shoulder great responsibility as they are directly connected with the safety of passengers and any lapse on their part may result in untoward incident. DRM Shri Amitabh Singhal emphasized that, contribution of family members towards efficient discharge of duties of running staff is immense, especially when it comes to health and mental peace. He stressed upon the family members to ensure that, quality rest is availed by these running staff in home without fail. Family members should contribute towards stress free environment during their stay at home.
Family members of running staff interacted freely with all the officers present and gave suggestions and valuable tips to improve upon the working of their spouse. DRM ensured that, concerted efforts shall be made by Railway Administration to further improve the basic amenities available in Running Rooms.
DRM Shri Amitabh Singhal mentioned that, all the running staff and their family members should feel proud of being Loco Pilot or Assistant Loco Pilot or Train Manager, as they are the backbone of Indian Railways. He requested all the Running staff present at the occasion that, each end every one of us should work with Diligence, Determination & Devotion (3Ds) because then only, Indian Railways shall progress by leaps and bounds.
Two short motivational videos were displayed for running staff, during the session. In these videos, the immense importance of proper rest and why not to use mobile phone while driving was clearly shown.
The session was attended by Sri.Ashok Kumar, Divisional Electrical Engineer (TRD) and Sri Sukanta Baliyarsingh, Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operation) who advised the running staff not to use mobile while driving and to completely abstain from any drugs/alcohol.
During the session, Sri B.S.Narayana & Sri L.S.Ramulu, Chief Loco Inspectors counseled Loco Pilots, Assistant Loco Pilots and Train Managers regarding how to be vigilant during driving and importance of proper rest before going for duty.
The session was coordinated by Sri.Prashant Kumar Padhy, Chief Crew Controller (CCC) & Sri. N.R.Panda, Chief Loco Inspector Rayagada.
The session was concluded with vote of thanks by Sri.Arbind Kumar, Safety Counselor (TMR).
