Fake Gutkha Manufacturing unit Found from Mushroom Industry in Berhampur

Berhampur: Police on Monday busted an illegal gutkha manufacturing unit at Jagadalpur under Sadar police limits in Berhampur and seized plant and Machineries.

Acting on a tipoff, a team along with the Berhampur Sub Collector, Keerthi Vasan V.IAS, Kukudakhandi local Tehsildar Dr.Ipsita Mishra, IIC Sadar Ms.Sanoshini Oram raided the factory and seized huge quantity of Gutkha. Fake packets, machines used for packing the product and other materials have been seized from the unit.

According to the source the Industry which obtain licence for processing of Mushroom food products.Howver in addition to it the plant also run the illegal Gutkha (BImal Brand) for long time(?).

The illegal unit used to pack the Gutkhas in packets was operating in the area since a long time, according to villagers. The land lord of the plant K.Tripati Das let the land to his nephew to run the industry and  as per their mutual understanding.Notably Tripati Das and his nephew are the native of G.Jagannathpur under Sadar PS limit.
