EXPELLED BJD MLA PRADEEP PANIGRAHY ARRESTED BY CRIME BRANCH

BHUBANESWAR:Thursday evening BJD MLA Pradeep Panigrahy was picked up by the Crime Branch from his Bhubaneswar official residence.

In a press note the CID CB of Odisha police Thursday arrested Sri Pradip Kumar Panigrahi, Honourable MLA, Gopalpur Assembly Constituency, in Cyber police Station case no 26/2020 u/s 419/420/467/468/469/471/120-B IPC r/w sec 66 C/66 D of IT Act 2000 as there is sufficient prima facie evidence against him in this case.

Evidence has come to light that Sri Panigrahi collected money on behalf of One Akash Kumar Pathak, falsely promising jobs in Tata company to people. This case relates to impersonation, cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and other cyber offences by one Akash Kumar Pathak, posing himself as in charge Managing Director of Tata Motors passenger car division.

Further, the CB’s clarification came after the MLA’s when Wife Sujata Panigrahy sought and questioned the whereabouts of Pradeep Panigrahy (?).

The Odisha Crime Branch tweeted that Panigrahi is being questioned in connection with CID CB Cyber Crime PS.

Notably, Pradeep Panigrahy, a three time MLA from Gopalpur constituency in Ganjam district was expelled from BJD on Sunday for anti-people activities.
