EOW, Odisha arrested Two Fraudsters Duping Govt.Funds

Bhubaneswar: Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested two accused persons namely Rajkishore Nayak of Bhawanipatna and Ananta Charan Pradhan of Pipili on 08.06.2021.

This case was registered on the report of CDMO, Subarnapur. It is alleged in the FIR that an amount of Rs.5,01,50,000/- has been unauthorisedly diverted from the account of Zilla Swasthya Samiti, National Health Mission (ZSS, NHM), Subarnapur on 07.04.2021 by hacking Public Financial Management System (PFMS) of National Health Mission.

During investigation, it is ascertained that Rajkishore Nayak previously serving as Accountant on temporary basis in NHM, Sonepur from 18.04.2016 and he left the job in 24.12.2020. Thereafter, he appointed temporarily as Accountant in Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR), Olatapur.

Thereafter, in the month of March, Shri Nayak entered entered into criminal conspiracy with Ananta Charan Pradhan and others and generated one E-cheque amounting to Rs.5,01,50,000/- by unauthorisedly hacking the portal of NHM system i.e. PFMS.

Thereafter they manufactured duplicate seal of ADMO and CDMO, Sonepur, put the same on the E-cheque and thereafter placed that Echeque at SBI, Sonepur for clearing. On 07.04.2021 an amount of Rs.5,01,50,000/- was diverted to the account of M/s NATURALS.

During investigation the mobile handset used for manufacturing of E-cheque has been seized alongwith other incriminating articles. Out of siphoned amount of Rs.5 Crore (approx.), an amount of Rs.3.30 Crores (approx.) has been freeze during investigation, so far.

Earlier accused Samir Kumar Pati, who was the employee of M/s NATURALS was arrested

in connection with EOW PS Case No.08 dtd.01.05.2021 u/s 420/467/468/471/120(B) IPC, r/w Sec.66 (C) & (D) of IT Act, 2008. They are being forwarded to the Court of SDJM,Sonepur.The investigation of the case is continuing.
