ENDIACon- 2026: State level Conference on Diabetes&Endocrinology held by Swasthya Sadan at Berhampur

Berhampur, 14thMarch 2026: Today ENDIACon- 2026, a state level conference addressing various aspects of Diabetes & Endocrinology was inaugurated at IMA hall, Berhampur.
The conference is organized under the stewardship of Dr Sunil Kumar Kota, Consultant Endocrinologist by Swasthya Sadan, Berhampur in association with IMA (Indian Medical Association) Berhampur. Dr Nihar Ranjan Sahoo was the scientific secretary, who worked in concert with Dr Kota to craft the scientific curriculum. Prof Dr Lalit Kumar Meher, Senior Professor cum Advisor in Medicine, was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony where; Dr K K Panigrahy, Secretary IMA and Dr P K Kar, senior surgeon cum Ex President, IMA, Berhampur were invited as the guests of honor. All the guests unanimously opined that prevalence of Diabetes is in upswing across the globe including India.
Therefore, periodic update of the doctors involved in care of people having Diabetes and Endocrine disorders is very much important. Simultaneously they requested the doctors to reach out to people in distress in form of education and proper management. Dr L K Meher thanked Dr Sunil Kota and Dr Nihar Sahoo for their tremendous efforts in organizing this kind of scientific event for doctors from South Odisha. Dr K K Panigrahy requested Dr Kota to continue with his educational activities for doctors and general public alike.
On this occasion the organizing secretary Dr Sunil Kota and his team had constituted an oration in the memory of late Prof P C Sahu, a doyen in the field of General medicine, who had been rendering his services to the medical fraternity and the general public for more than 6 decades and passed away on 28th may 2025.
The first ever prestigious Prof P C Sahu oration was bestowed upon Prof L K Meher, who delivered his address on Specific infection in Diabetes. A citation, a stole and a gift was presented to Prof L K Meher on the occasion by Dr Bibhudendu Sahu (Son of late Prof P C Sahu) and Dr Sunita Senapati (Daughter in law of late Prof P C Sahu), Dr K K Panigrahy and Dr Nihar Ranjan Sahoo.There are total of 45 deliberations on different aspects of diabetes and endocrinology to be delivered by academic experts from across Odisha including panel discussions, debates, expert deliberations.
All total 400 doctors registered for the 2 day long scientific event. Doctors from General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pulmonology, Plastic surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Radiology, Dental Surgery, Anesthesia and Psychiatry attended the sessions.
At the end of the inauguration ceremony, Dr Sunil Kota thanked the audience, other doctors in the organizing team, PG students from MKCG Medical college and a number of volunteers from Swasthya Sadan for having contributed selflessly for successful conduct of the event.
At the concluding day of the event, a certificate of participation by Swasthya Sadan shall be issued to all the attendees citing 8 credit hours sanctioned by Odisha Council of Medical Registration.
