New Delhi:Huge self-publicity advertisement expenses, freebies nowhere seen in the country like electricity, water, medicines etc etc, corona-relief to selected categories of people aiming towards political advantage, and extra-ordinary rupees one-crore compensation on death of each of corona-warriors again aimed for vote-bank politics to selected ones were bound to make coffers of Delhi Government making it necessary to urgently earn revenue by taking anti-public step of promoting sale of liquor through home-delivery. Even more surprising is that Lt Governor is adopting a mute silence on such extra-ordinary expenses requiring heavy sale of liquor. We have an unique example of Odisha where Chief Minister faces every problem silently and effectively without useless self-publicity even gracefully declining to over-burden central government by claiming as some sort of right relief for cyclone.

Even if sale of liquor was to be promoted for covering deficiency of state-exchequer, then at least it must have been ensured to link sale of liquor with both Aadhar-numbers and ration-cards so as to ensure elimination of all types of subsidies, freebies or even corona-relief from all those purchasing liquor either through home-delivery or otherwise. Since members of large families suffer from head or any other family-member spending on liquor, restriction on sale of liquor must also have been imposed on ration-cards with families having more than two children.

Since Delhi is a Union Territory, Central Government should exercise its powers to ensure financial censuring on abnormal extra-ordinary huge spending by Delhi Government so that need for anti-public promotion of sale of liquor may not be needed. Considering unfair spending for political gains by Delhi Government, Central Government in larger interest of people of Delhi should enforce Chandigarh-like Administrator-system for Delhi abolishing state-assembly. Otherwise also Delhi being capital city should be ruled by Central government only with normal civic aspects taken care of by civic bodies.
