ED raids at Sand Mafia BJD leader Hrushikesh Padhi residence in Ganjam

Berhampur,(16/01.2026): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted searches at multiple premises linked to sand mafia Hrushikesh Padhi a prominent figure in politics in Ganjam as part of an investigation into allegations of disproportionate assets.


Around three ED teams conducted raids early in the morning at Pasha’s ancestral house in Sheragada. Simultaneously, searches were also underway at his son’s residence in Jayaprakash Nagar in Berhampur, while another raid was reported at premises in Gandhi Nagar area and lanjipalli of Berhampur.
The subsequent report reveal that,in Sheragada, the ED reportedly raided Padhi’s private residence, petrol pump, and TVS showroom. Simultaneously, the team visited his son’s home in Ambikanagar, Berhampur.
Apart from Padhi, BJP leader and liquor businessman Bhagaban Sahu was also targeted. ED teams raided his house in Aska Sandhinua Palli village, his liquor shop, and seven other associated properties. A separate team conducted a raid in Hinjili.
The searches are linked to allegations that Padhi amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
While raids have been reported across multiple locations in Ganjam, the ED has not disclosed the exact reason for the operations. Sources suggest the raids may be linked to alleged illegal assets, but official confirmation is pending. Further details are awaited as the investigation still continues.
