Doordarshan to Launch Santali News Bulletins: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Mayurbhanj: Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Saturday that Doordarshan will begin airing news bulletins in Santali within a week.
The announcement came during an event in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, where President Droupadi Murmu, a member of the Santali community, laid the foundation stones for six key projects, including three new railway lines.
Santali, one of India’s 22 scheduled languages, is spoken by over 70 lakh people across Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Tripura.
