Koraput:It’s been a hundred years. However, the Koraput district administration has not been able to save it. Billions of dollars worth of documents were stolen. Jaipur was the only place where the documents were kept. However, due to the incompetence of the Koraput district administration, all the documents of that era were destroyed. Now that the administration has found out, it has thrown away the rest. Naxals in 14 blocks in the district have eaten all the manure, while the old history of Koraput district has been lost. In particular, the Maharaja of Jaipur had many old and important documents, government letters, directives, money accounts, etc., which were stored in his possession. A room near the Koraput district magistrate’s office was used to secure the documents after Raja Rajuda’s ouster. It was also called the second record room. However, due to the inaction government over the years, there has been a lack of proper storage of important documents in the chambers, and 500 years of important documents have been flooded with rainwater. Seeing the state of the document, the district administration began relocating the document. The completely safe documents were taken to another house, while the partially and completely destroyed documents for the Wei were dumped in a cashew fence near Kahneiput, like the city’s garbage dump. However, the government has been reluctant to preserve the history of the Koraput region since the publication of various government papers, maps, and various letters from the king’s office from 1500 to 2000, which were reassured by the administration throwing them into the open air. The Odisha government, in particular, has been embroiled in legal battles in the Supreme Court over the Kotia and other border disputes with Andhra Pradesh.
“Important documents need to be protected from the discarded documents and the documents transferred safely to another room by the district administration should be kept in a modern manner and all documents should be digitized,” he said.
