DOCTOR ASSAULTED OVER PATIENT’S DEATH;TENSION AT BOLANGIR HOSPITAL AFTER YOUTH DIES(!)

Bolangir: Tension erupted at Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Bolangir district following the death of youth due to alleged medical negligence. Reportedly, the family members attacked an on-duty doctor which led to a heated protest by the health staff in front of the hospital.
While the health staff demanded the arrest of the persons involved in the murderous attack the doctor, the family members of the deceased youth demanded action against the doctor from negligence in treatment.
On intimation, Sub Collector Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Additional SP Manoranjan Pradhan, Sadar SDPO Srimant Kumar Barik, Model PS IIC Sangram Keshari Pattanayak reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
According to reports, a youth identified as Jitu alias Jitendra Suna (32), of Bishnumunda under Bolangir Municipality area, was admitted to the hospital due to high fever today. His antigen sample was sent for the test immediately and he was shifted to the Isolation Ward. However, he breathed his last at around 3 pm.
