Schools can’t force parents to pay increased fees until High Court final verdict. Changed previous instructions
Talcher:An important meeting was held on February 25 in the conference room of the Sub Collector Talcher to address the issues of arbitrary fee hikes in DAV schools in Angul-Talcher. However, the meeting was between the complaining district parents’ association, MCL authorities, the principal of DAV School and administrative officials. In the meeting, the parents’ union condemned the decision of SDM that day as “completely false and baseless” and called an emergency meeting in Talcher today after reports surfaced in various media outlets. It is to be informed that on 25/02/2021, in the conference room of the Sub Divisional Magistrate, the District Parents Association requested the introduction of the order of the Hon’ble High Court and the order of the State Government in the School Fees case and the order of the former Deputy District Magistrate from 22/02/2020. In the case of waiver of fees by the State Schools and Mass Education Department dated 17.01.2011 No. (1336) and the order of the Hon’ble High Court under WP (C) NO.11299, 2020 WP (C) NO 11514 2020 and WP (C) NO-32259 2020 Ordered to be introduced. Since the MCL authorities had filed a waiver order in the High Court , the case number – W.P. (C) NO – 17315 Of 2020 / L.A.NO -8184, 2020 It is now reserved. Therefore, the Guardian Federation defended itself, saying that no decision could be taken until the High Court’s verdict comes. No one can disobey the order of the Hon’ble High Court or the order of the State Government but the decision No. 2511/2021 dated 25/02/2021 has been misrepresented in the directive issued on 01/03/2021, the parents complained. Arguments in favour were issued and an increase was ordered, but the parents’ union strongly opposed the move. So after hearing all the important issues at an emergency meeting again today, the Sub Divisional Magistrate,Talcher,Rajanikanta Swani changed the previous directive. He said the school could not compel the children until the High Court ruled in favour of the increased fees and that the decision to implement the epidemic Corona Fees directive was to be implemented immediately by all private schools.
