Dismissed Army Jawan arrested for Job fraud by Berhampur Police

Berhampur: Acting on a tip off the Berhmapur,Baidyanathpur Police have arrested one Santosh Kumar Sethi (33), S/o-Late Udayanath Sethi of Nandigore, PS- Dhorakote, Ganjam.
The Baidyanathpur police acted on the based on a complaint registered one of the victim Gourisankar Sethi (32) a resident of Gajapatinagar,Berhampur and the accuse Santosh Sethy arrested .
After proper investigation finally the police have recovered (1) one LENOVO A7020a48 mobile hand set having SIM NO.9692107099 and IMEI Nos. (1) 863448035989174 and (2) 863448035989182 of the complainant. Images of Army Grocery card, Aadhar Card, Army Liquor card, Rajput Regiment Centre I. Card, Army dress wearing photograph of accused Santosh Kumar Sethi Seizure, Images of Phone Pay transaction Rs.8500/-(Rs.5500+Rs.3000) paid to Mr. Buddh Singh Paramar and images of call records of mobile No.9861705389 of accused Santosh Kumar Sethi, One Honda SP 125 (New Bike) motorcycle.
According to a senior Police officer, On 29.01.2023 at 01.13 PM complainant Gourisankar Sethi (32) of Gajapatinagar, BN Pur PS alleged that the accused Santosh Kumar Sethi S/o Udayanath Sethi of Nandighore, PS- Dhrakote, cheated him by impersonating himself as a serving Indian Army Personnel and cheated him of cash Rs. 11500/- from one Anita Swain, (friend of the complainant) which was transferred to the phone pay of the accused (T) phone pay of the complainant and also stolen one Honda SP 120 of the complainant and demanded more money by putting him in fear of death.
Accused had taken the complainant inside the Army AD college Gopalpur and promised him that he will get the complainant job in the Indian Army through his contacts.
Earlier On 25.01.2023 complainant Susanta Kumar Giri S/o Surendra Giri of Athuli, Phashipoda, PS-Khodala, reported that same accused had impersonated himself as a serving Army personnel and cheated him of cash Rs.22,000/- from the complainant. During the course of investigation it came to light that he has also cheated cash of Rs.8000/- from one Asish Kumar Sethy S/o Santosh Sethy of village Madhusudanpur who is a BTECH student of GATE College, Golanthara on 21.01.23 as such basing in his report B.N.Pur PS case No.43 dt. 24.01.23 U/s 420 IPC has been registered against the accused Santosh Kumar Sethy.
The accused was absconding and managed to evade police till now. Finally, he was arrested and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court. All the three cases are under investigation. During investigation it came to light that accused Santhosh Kumar Sethi was previously serving in the Indian Army and was dismissed for long absence and indiscipline. He used his various Army ID cards fraudulently and cheated many persons. It is requested to hard working youngsters not to believe any Dalal if he promises job in the Indian Army. If any person has been cheated by Santhosh Kumar Sethi, they are requested to come and report to the nearest Police station.
