Digapahandi Police Seized 117Kg of Ganja from a Car

Berhampur: Digapahandi Police has arrested a man and the driver for allegedly smuggling over 117 kg of Ganja in a Santro Car in Digapahandi area on Tuesday.
The accused persons have been identified as Surendra Dora (50) of Village Kansamari and Driver Ranjit Gauda (23) of Village Katapalli under Patapur police station limit.
Acting on a tip off, a police team of Digapahandi Police team intercepted a Santro Car bearing Regd.No-OD 02P2672 during their routine patrolling on Tuesday at about 04:00 AM.
While searching the car, the police recovered 117 Kg of Ganja from the vehicle, and subsequently seized the contraband items along with the Car.
The estimated cost of the seized Ganja not yet calculated as the preliminary enquiry is ON.
Police said, they have been detained at Digapahandi police station. the duo have disclose before the police they have procured the same from Mohana area adding that the accused was transporting the contraband item to other State. A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act u/s. 20(b)(ll)(C)/25 at Digapahandi police station. They will be forwarded to the court after proper interrogation.
