Dhadi Darshan to Begin at Puri Srimandir from Jan 20: Law Minister
Puri: Puri’s iconic Jagannath Temple will implement a queue system for devotees from January 20, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced on Tuesday.
The initiative aims to ensure a hassle-free darshan experience at the Srimandir, one of the holiest sites for Hindus.
Harichandan confirmed that preparations are underway to streamline the process, enhancing convenience for the thousands of devotees who visit the temple daily. He stated, “Although the queue system was initially planned for the New Year, its implementation was postponed due to the heavy influx of pilgrims during that period.”
The minister also informed that the repair work on the temple’s Ratna Bhandar, which houses invaluable ornaments of the deities, will resume on January 17. This work, temporarily halted due to technical reasons, is expected to conclude by March, after which an inventory of the ornaments will be conducted.
Notably, no trial run of the dhadi darshan system will be carried out before its official launch. The initiative aims to manage the overwhelming crowds at the shrine effectively, ensuring a serene and orderly experience for all visitors.
