Demand for Women Police Station at Paralakhemundi.

Gajapati,11/06/25:Paralakhemundi is the district headquarter of Gajapati.Here women atrocities are at apex state.Women feel insecure to register their cases at only Model Police Station.There are only 2 SIs & 4 Constables women to operate women cases.Moreover every year more than 400 cases registered,where 40℅ among them linked with women issues. So dearth of women staff to handle such cases & solution not coming out faster.
Besides that there are 7 Police Stations in the district where hardly lady police staff found.Moreover grassroots women feel insecure to report cases & afraid before male staff.So necessity of establishment of Women Police Station imminent what intellectuals feeling
Among them Head of IWD a leading voluntary organization,Minati Padhi said that grassroots women too feel insecure & their privacy & freedom still a question. Eradication of women violence & POSCO Act hardly reaching them.
Said a legal practitioner Bhagyalaxmi Nayak, “I worked since long 2 decades with grassroots mostly backward sections where tribals have high fear to approach Police Station among women. So remedial measures only establishment of women special attention at a separate Police Station where they can feel comfortable”.
One woman activist Nirmala Patnaik,who is working more than 25 years said due to ignorance mostly women exploited where now a days cyber crime is an iota where their hard earned assets looted. So these are all core issues where at district headquarter need of Women Police Station is essential.There are other resources like Juvenile Justice Board,Sakhi One Step Centre & Woman & Child Desk.Despite all loggerheads felt due to scarcity of sufficient women staff on all Police Stations.So better late than never to sort out core issues need of Women wing law & order institutions essential at Paralakhemundi.
