DEAL OF SALE OF LEOPARD SKIN BY WILD LIFE- CRIMINALS APPREHENDED BEFORE STF SPECIALIZED TEAM

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of reliable information, STF team conducted a raid with the help of Boudh Forest officials near village Kapasira under Manmunda Forest Range, District: Boudh about a deal of sale of Leopard Skin by wild life criminals on 18.10.2021, as a result of which one accused person namely Jibardhan Bhoi S/o. Ganaram Bhoi of Dundra PO. Naran Prasad PS. Kantamal Dist. Boudh was apprehended.
During search, 02 (two) Nos Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of Leopard Skin, for which he has been detained and handed over to forest officials for necessary legal action at their end. Investigation is on.
During last one year, Special drive against the wildlife criminals/poachers have been launched, STF has seized as many as 18 nos Leopard skin, 09 nos Elephant Tusk, 02 deer skin, 05 live pangolin and 15 kg pangolin scales and arrested 36 wild life criminals.
STF is the specialized wing of Odisha Police to curb the organized crime in the State. Wild life crimes remain the one of the focus area of STF and STF will continue its drive against the wild life crime and criminals
