Cyclone Yaas’s effects started in coastal belts; Naveen Patanik urged people to be alert

Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Yaas is predicted to cross the Odisha –West Bengal coasts on 26th of this month and by that time it will take a severe cyclonic storm. In the context the Hon’ble CM, Naveen Patnaik in a vdo message urged everyone to take precautions for the cause. He also said that right now we are fighting with corona pandemic and another big threat is just in front of us and we have to fight bravely both the dangers. Previously Odisha had successfully chased any calamities attacked us and last year we had faced both the threats corona and cyclonic storm Amphan in May successfully.
This time also we will stand tall to fight these two major dangers. He also requested every person to shift to safe areas like under concrete roofs and sheds prepared for people to take shelter in this type of calamities. He sincerely requested everyone to wear double masks during this time to fight corona. He assured that the 4.5 crores population of our state is his family and he is there to take care of his fsamily with all sincerity. He also asked the local administration to provide masks for the people in need.
The effects of Yaas are already experienced in coastal belts like Balasore and Soro area where continuously it is raining with wind flow is reported. In precautionary measures, Eastern Railway has suspended 25 trains between May 25 and May 29. It is expected that Yaas will cross the Odisha- West Bengal coast between Paradip and Sagar Island around noon of 26th and the effect will be very strong with wind flow speed of 155-165 kmph, said IMD. Odisha is all prepared to fight this cyclonic storm, Yaas and due precautionary measured must have to be taken by all as advised by Hon’ble CM of Odisha.
