Cycling Sunshine: TPSODL Employee’s 640 KM Awareness Ride

Berhampur: Carrying the message of adopting solar energy and adhering to electrical safety norms, Saumya Ranjan Lenka completed a 640-km awareness journey. Shri Lenka serves as a Team Lead in the Project Department of TPSODL (TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited). Beyond his professional life, he is an ardent environmentalist, always proactive in protecting the environment and raising awareness among the public through various means.

As part of this initiative, on October 15, Shri Saumya Ranjan Lenka embarked on a bicycle journey to spread awareness. Starting from Jeypore in the Koraput district, the journey passed through Nabarangpur, Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Bhanjanagar, and Aska, concluding in Berhampur after seven days on 22nd October. His primary goal was to promote the adoption of solar energy under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and to raise awareness about adhering to electrical safety regulations.

Speaking about the initiative, Shri Lenka said, “We have one Earth, one Sun.  We can gift a green and beautiful world to the next generation. To achieve this, we must embrace clean and green energy. Moreover, we must always follow electrical safety guidelines while using electrical appliances. My aim is to extend this awareness campaign across Odisha in the coming days.”

During his journey, Shri Lenka reached out to many people and visited various schools to spread his message among children. He shared awareness slogans and sang self-composed songs about safety to create awareness among the public. 

At the conclusion of his journey in Berhampur, Shri Lenka also initiated a signature campaign, collecting signatures from numerous people, including students, whom he met along the way.
