CUTTACK “BALI YATRA” KICKED OFF ON THE OCCASION OF KARTIK PURNIMA

Cuttack,12/11/19: It is the same time of the year when all roads of millennium city Cuttack lead to Quila Maidaan and the banks of river Mahanadi where Odisha’s largest fair, the Bali Yatra is kicked off on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. 

For the first time, the district administration has introduced rickshaw and bicycle facilities for visitors to visit the fair that is organised in over 50 acre area. The move is aimed at reducing pollution. 

Odisha Speaker SN Patro inaugurated the historic Cuttack Bali Yatra today which is organized in memory of the rich maritime history of the State. Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammad Moquim, MP Bhartruhari Mahatab and other elected representatives of the district were present on the occasion. The week-long festival is being organized in even a grander manner after Odisha government accorded it a state-level festival status.
