Crorepati Forest Ranger Having Peafowl as Pet Arrested by Vigilance in DA Case

Bhubaneswar: Bibhudananda Mishra, Forest Range Officer (Dhenkanal range) was arrested by the vigilance officials on Friday in connection with a disproportionate assets case registered against him.

He was also found to have kept Indian Peafowl violating the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Four Peafowls were seized from his premises and were handed over to forest department. A wildlife case has also been lodged against Mishra for this illegal act.

The crorepati forest Ranger was found to possess a high value flat in Bhubaneswar, two flats in Hyderabad, eight plots in Bhubaneswar and Dhenkanal. The vigilance officials also unearthed that he owned a farm house with civil construction approximately Rs 2 crore, deposits over Rs 1 crore, cash Rs 5.15 lakh, gold 557 gms and two four wheelers.
