ROURKELA,07/07/20: Day after day corona cases in Rourkela is becoming grave. The corona positive tally is increasing; hence, Rourkela Municipal Corporation is under tremendous pressure. A new guideline has been issued in-between by the RMC and the ADM, Rourkela. This guideline has notified 14 districts from where if anybody comes to Rourkela then they have to remain in 14 days quarantine. These districts are Khorda, Bhadrak, Bolangir, Puri, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Balasore, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Gajapati and Jagatsingpur. Guideline also says, if anybody who is staying in Rourkela in anyway goes out of the city for more than five hours then he/she has to remain in 14 days quarantine either in Govt. quarantine centers or in home quarantine taking the health issue in consideration. If someone coming to Rourkela for marriage purposes then he/she has to stay in quarantine for 14 days before marriage. Now officials and police of the city are taking all stocks of the people who are coming to the city in any mode of transportation and are asked to report Health Desk in BPUT, the temporary covid-19 quarantine centre. Any violation of the same will attract stringent action. Whosoever is coming to Rourkela for any purpose and going back within 72 hours need not to report at Health Desk in BPUT quarantine centre. If anybody is found symptoms of corona then he needs to stay in 14 days quarantine either and they can take free quarantine in Govt. arrangement or can take the paid quarantine in hotels as tie up with RMC and they are, Radhika Regency, J P White, Kanishka-Inn and Regency-Inn.
This guideline has been notified taking into consideration of wellness for all, looking at spread of corona which is intensifying and imposing a great challenge in front of the administration. Looking at the guideline many intellectuals and other class of people apprehend how the administration is going to monitor and the manage the thing, this comes to mind of everyone with quite obvious reasons because many people in Rourkela are not following any guidelines, i.e. wearing masks, maintaining social distance in public places or to stop spitting on open places. These so called offenders are on roads everywhere but no action is being taken by the administration except in few cases where the administration and police is imposing fines. But it has to be dealt with strict mindset and with exemplary action. Anyways, the top job remains with people first, everybody should come forward to cooperate the administration for their own shake and for others; otherwise we will be pushed to a situation where coming out of this pandemic will be too difficult.
