Covid-19, Appropriate Behaviour & Protocols required to prevent transmission of the infection during Thakurani Yatra in Berhampur, SDM.

Berhampur: Whereas, it is observed that in many places people are showing complacency in Observing the basic COVID-19 protocols which is making the environment conducive for spread of COVID-19 infection, and here as Covid appropriate behaviour and protocols are required to be observed scrupulously in order to prevent the transmission of the infection,

Whereas as per letter No 80 dt 11.4.21 of Hereditary Organiser of Maa Budhi Santani Thakurani, Biennial Goddess Festivals, Berhampur regarding Parikrama of Goddess Sri Sri Maa Budhi Santani Thakurani on 11.4.21 and as per requisition letter of lIC Badabazar Police Station, it is apprehended that, there is possibility of large scale congregation of public during Parikrama of deity from Temporary Pendal at Desibehera Steet to Mohari Raja Batti.

Therefore, in order to restrict large scale gathering in one place in view to prevent further spread of COVID-19,1, V.Keerthi Vasan, 1.A.S, Sub-Divisional Magistrate,Berhampur-cum-incident Commander for Covid-19 do hereby restrict any kind of public gathering under section 144 Cr.PC during the said Parikrama of Maa Budhi Santani Thakurani from Temporary Pendal to Mohiri Raja Batti from 6.00 P.M to 10 P.M of 11.4.21 with the following stipulations;

Deity will move from Temporary Pendal to Raja Batti as per traditional Custom with any stoppage in between, Only Alati of deity is allowed. No Puja/ Prasad Sevan/ breaking of coconut etc is allowed, Not more than 20 persons including priests/pujakas are allowed to accompany with the deity during above parikrama, Only traditional rituals to be followed with proper cordoning by the police, The programme should be completed by 10 P.M positively, No public shall be allowed to participate/accompany with the above Parikrama of the deity, Usage of public address system/mic shall be prohibited.

Any person found violating the above order shall be liable to be prosecuted

against, under section 188 of IPC and also under relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act,2005 and also under Epidemic Diseases Act,1897.
