COVID-19 is nowadays the most highlighted topic as it is a global pandemic. First time in the world history people are dying just like insects. This viral disease seems unstoppable till no vaccine had been developed for it. Many countries are researching on the development of vaccine. This disease has caused an enormous loss to the world’s economy. To try to stop the spreading of this virus many countries have organised lockdowns, shutdowns, social distancing and the definite/must use of masks and sanitizers. The Indian government has also taken the necessary desicions. They have guided to close all the schools and colleges of the country and also stopped all the examinations throughout the country, which was also necessary to stop the local spreading of the disease. After a long period of lockdown when the government decided to give some relief in some sectors but, didn’t allowed to the schools, colleges & coaching centres to open. The government didn’t want to risk the life of the students. Students are also concerned of their results and further studies. The government declared to organise online classes. As a result many private institutions started organising online classes. But in the government schools and colleges organising online classes was a very difficult issue.Because most of the students who study in government institutions have a poor economic background.
Those students who live in villages can’t get a strong internet connection for attending online classes. Some students don’t even possess Android or iOS smart phone. Even student’s parents possess a smart phone if they have more than one child , then another problem arises as each of them needs a smartphone to do his class as their classes occurs at the same time. Even if the problem of smart phone and network gets resolved there is another problem. The conductance of online classes through government institutions is delaying day by day. The students miseries don’t end here. The pupils who have given their 10th and 12th board examinations, they are in great tension for their results, because the checking of answer copies is in great uncertainty. Teachers aren’t willing to go to nodal centres for checking answer sheets in this type of critical situation. Those students which were preparing for the competitive examinations are also disturbed due to the delaying of exam dates and continuous change of guidelines. Government’s decision making ability in the education sector is gradually decreasing, which is forcing the students to lose their faith in the government. Each student of country needs a commitment from the government for a secure future.
In this period of uncertainty, students are getting more disturbed thinking about their future. The government needs to look into this matter in a serious manner.
