Convicted Former Junior Accountant of Gajapati Dist Terminated from Govt Service

Bhubaneswar: B. Chandra Sekhar Behera, Ex-Junior Accountant of the Education Section in Block Development Office of Kashinagar in Gajapati was terminated from government service following his conviction by Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur in a bribery case.
Behera was found guilty of accepting a bribe from a school teacher for preparing and passing the arrear bills.
The vigilance court convicted Behera and sentenced him to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs.5,000, and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 months.
Following the conviction of Behera, Odisha Vigilance communicated the concerned authorities to take appropriate action against the erring official.
