Constitution Day Observed in Bhubaneswat; CM Majhi Participates In Padayatra
Bhubaneswar: November 26 is observed as Constitution Day as on this day on 1949, India adopted its Constitution, which was implemented on January 26, 1950.
In 2015, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment decided to celebrate November 26 as Constitution Day to propagate the values of the Constitution among the citizens.
In Odisha, a padayatra themed ‘Ama Samvidhan, Ama Swabhiman’ was organized in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to mark the day. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and several other state ministers participated in this padyatra organised by the state Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry from the AG Square to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
At the AG Square, CM Majhi and others garlanded the statue of the Dr BR Ambedkar before start of the padyatra.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi termed it a “sacred day” for all Indians, emphasizing that the Constitution is a guiding force for the nation’s democracy and governance.
