Congress’ Ex-MLA of Paralakhemundi K Surya Rao Joins BJD
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, former Congress MLA of Paralakhemundi K Surya Rao joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Saturday.
He was formally inducted into the BJD in the presence of senior leaders of the party including Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra at a ceremony at the BJD headquarters Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
K Surya Rao resigned from the Congress in June 2019 following his defeat in Assembly elections accusing the party of ignoring him.
He was elected as Paralakhemundi MLA in 2014. He lost to JP’s K Narayana Rao in the same assembly seat in 2019.
