Collectors’ meeting on Panchayat and Municipal Elections at Chatrapur,Ganjam

Chhatrapur, Dt 20/01/2026:A meeting of District Collectors was held at Rushikulya Zilla Parishad Conference Hall, Chhatrapur, under the chairmanship of State Election Commissioner Shri Madhusudan Padhi to discuss preparations for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections and voter list revision.

The State Election Commissioner advised officials to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. He discussed house-to-house voter list revision, checking the availability and condition of ballot boxes and EVMs, reorganization of polling booths and setting up polling stations closer to voters.

He also explained the process of electoral roll revision and the use of various election-related forms. Officials were advised to work in coordination and strictly follow election rules. Good advance preparation would help avoid problems during the elections, he emphasized.

The conference was attended by Southern Revenue Commissioner Shri Sangram Keshari Mohapatra; Secretary to the State Election Commissioner, Shri Santosh Kumar Das; Ganjam Collector Shri V. Keerthi Vasan; Koraput Collector Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan; Kandhamal Collector Shri Vedbhushan; Kalahandi Collector Shri Sachin Pawar; Gajapati Collector Shri Akshay Sunil Agrawal; Malkangiri Collector Shri Somesh Kumar Upadhyay; Nabarangpur Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain; Rayagada Collector Shri Ashutosh Kulkarni; Berhampur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Prathamesh Arvind Rajsirke; along with Additional District Collectors, Sub-Collectors, and District Panchayat Officers from all the concerned districts.
