COLLECTOR, SUNDERGARH INAUGURATED NEW SNCU IN MCH BUILDING

ROURKELA: Collector Sundergarh, Nikhil Pavan Kalyan has inaugurated SNCU in MCH building from children ward in Sundergarh District Hospital. On Saturday Collector has inaugurated this SNCU which has been operative in Sundergarh Disctict Hospital since 2013.

This has been providing the desired help to new born babies who are sick or underweight where special care is required. This type cases are very sensitive in nature and in many cases, mortality rate is very high, hence, having this facility will help bringing mortality rate substantially low. Inaugurating this facility Nikhil Pavan Kalyan has also said that the administration is going to bring Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and for mother High Dependency Unit shortly which will benefits many children as well as mother who require special care.

This old unit in new building will give better service and special care will be taken like one sister will be allocated for 2/3 beds which will enable better focus. In this SNCU there will be Radiant Warmer, Photos therapy, kangaroo Mother care, Oxygen Concentrator and also facility available to feed children where mothers could not feed their children due to some medical issues. For now there will be 12 beds in this new SNCU. In this inaugural ceremony, CDMO, Dr.Saroj Ku Mishra, DMO, Dr. Purna Chandra Sahu, DPHO, Dr. Kanu Charan Nayak and other doctors were present with para-medical staffs.
