CM Naveen felicitates DHH Rayagada for being Rank One: V K Pandian assures to take the process forward

Dr. Badal Tah, Odishabarta, Rayagada, February 20: Chief Minister Naveen Pattanaik felicitates and congratulates District Headquarters Hospital(DHH) Rayagada for securing Rank One in the entire state of Odisha for the Financial Year 2022-23. It got 1st position among 32 DHHs of the State.
 
 As per the criteria and guidelines based on specific parameters set by the H& FW department, all Medical College and Hospital, DHH, SDH &  CHCs are graded in every financial year. Chief Minister felicitates the top performing health institution under DHH Ranking. A cash award also given to RKS, DHH for the development of health facilities. The cash reward of RKS DHH of Rank 1,2 & 3 is Rs. 100 Lakhs, 50 Lakhs and 30 Lakhs respectively. Accordingly DHH Rayagada has received Rs.1 crore as cash reward, which will further other development of DHH, said Rajeshawr Pattanaik, District Programme Manager of Rayagada DHH.


 
The health department has specified certain criteria for annual grading system like Bed Occupancy Rate, C Section Rate, types of diagnostic services, patient satisfaction score, Quality certification score, etc. The prime objective of DHH Ranking is to improve patient satisfaction through teamwork, technology, transparency and transformation of healthcare delivery system in a time-bound manner. Rayagada DHH has surpassed these parameters.
 
National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) is the highest certification award for providing quality healthcare services in public health facilities.  These are broadly arranged under 8 “Areas of Concern”– Service Provision, Patient Rights, Inputs, Support Services, Clinical Care, Infection Control, Quality Management and Outcome. “The DHH, Rayagada started the process quality journey from the year 2021 by conducting an internal assessment in 14 departments. Accordingly, the gaps were identified and actions were taken to improve the quality of services. After complying the required criteria, the Sate assessment of NQAS was completed and nominated for National Assessment in the month of February 2022. The National Assessment was conducted in July 2022 by empanelled External assessors from Govt.of India. The DHH, Rayagada secured 89% and achieved NQAS certificate in September 2022” said Dr Lal Mohan Routray, Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer(CDM&PHO).
 
“We are extremely happy that the scorecard of Rayagada DHH is in an increasing trend. While officiating as 5T Secretary, V K Pandian visited Rayagada DHH. Members of Rayagada Nagarika Manch, a civil society outfit, let by local minister & MLAs again met Pandian in Lok Seva Bhawan to lobby for a medical college in the district. They got an assurance that DHH Rayagada would be converted to a Multispeciality hospital soon. After this there was no looking back as Pandian is fulfilling the health needs of the district in a phased manner. We are optimistic”, said Ajay Rath, Convenor of the Mancha.
