CM INAUGURATES TWO DEDICATED COVID-19 HOSPITALS IN GANJAM

BERHAMPUR: Odisha,Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated two exclusive COVID hospitals to strengthen the infrastructure for the treatment of corona patients in Berhampur, Ganjam.
The dedicated COVID-19 hospitals (DCHs) at AMIT Hospital with joint collaboration Aswini Group Hospital Cuttack at Konishi and MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCG MCH), Berhampur through video conferencing.
Other side Surjya Narayan Patro speaker Odisha legislative assembly with Chandra Sekhar Sahu ,MP, Collector Ganjam Vijay Amruta Kulange in the inauguration of Aswini Covid hospital at Kanisi.
Around 5 PM Honble Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik inaugurated online the Hospital. Similarly at Berhampur MKCG,Bikram Panda,MLA Berhampur,Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyupatnaik Chakravartysingh Rathore,Commissioner BeMC Sub Collector Berhampur Sindhe Duttatraya Bhausaheb Senior Doctors with other dignitaries were present during Online inauguration.
Patro speaker expressed thanks to Chief Minister for the new hospital for Covid patients. With this more than 500 patients will get treatment properly.
Earlier, the State Government had devised a new strategy to contain spread of the virus with focus on expansion of health infrastructure, more use of telemedicine and increased awareness about it among people.
On the occasion Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange told to scribe,The both the hospital having 150 beds, and there are 24-bed intensive care units each at both the hospitals.The DCH at Amit Hospital will be managed by the Ashwini Group of Hospital, Cuttack. he facility will be manned by the doctors, staff nurse, technicians and other support staff from the ASHWINI Group of Hospital under the supervision of MKCG MCH.The hospital has facility of 24 of ICU beds with ventilators, 50 HDUs and Isolation ward and 76 General Wards he added.
Similarly, the pediatric ward of MKCG MCH, Berhampur has been converted to DCH. The facility will be manned by the doctors, staff nurse, technicians and other support staff from the MKCG MCH, Berhampur. The DCH has facility of 24 number of ICU beds with ventilators and 126 Isolation Beds.
The CM, who had earlier sanctioned Rs 25 crore to the district to support its fight against COVID-19 pandemic, also announced that a plasma bank will be set up soon at the MKCG Hospital to streamline convalescent plasma therapy for the treatment of serious patients.
With the direction of the CM, the plasma therapy has already started in the district and has been showing encouraging results.
