BERHAMPUR,(05/04/20):Taking a stringent step to check spread of coronavirus, Odisha’s Ganjam district administration has imposed an order under which residents of the district would be fined with Rs. 1,000/- for not wearing masks when coming out of home.
During a press meet on Sunday evening at Town Hall, Berhampur by the Collector, Ganjam Mr Vijay Amruta Kulange said, As part of the preventive measures to fight against deadly Coronavirus, the Ganjam district administration has made it mandatory for the people to wear masks when they are coming outside.
Municipal Commissioner Mr Chakravartysingh Rathore categorically warns to the Shopkeepers in Berhampur will lose trading licence if they fail to ensure their consumers maintain social distancing. This was informed so many times.Hence,It’s the responsibility of shopkeepers or store owners to oversee their consumers maintain social distancing while purchasing goods. The shopkeepers were asked to put permanent circle or square marks outside the premises distancing about two metres.
Joining the Media briefing Mr Pinak Mishra, SP, Berhampur said, As you all aware COVID- 19 spreads from person to person, reducing the ways people come in close contact with each other is essential.So, during the partial shutdown in Berhampur will continue till further orders. No bike or car will be allowed for buying vegetables, grocery, medicine etc. it will not be tolerated. Any vehicle reaching any market with or without vehicle pass will be seized. Wise walk down to the nearby shop to make your purchases.
