Children and Youth Celebrate Diwali with Diya and Rangoli in Berhampur

Bhubaneswar:On this occasion of Diwali people are decorating their houses with rangoli, lights and candles and also using different fire crackers. Everyone knows use of fire crackers people have to face heavy sounds and lights, on these children have to face psychological impact due to sound and air pollution. The Odisha government this year banned the sale and use of firecrackers across the state during the festive season to check air pollution which can aggravate health conditions of COVID-19 patients. To make it a simple, pollution, noise free Diwali children and youth in slums in Berhampur city have   determined to make this a success. They organized different activities at the slum level to aware their parents, youths and the mass to stop any kind of violence against children. The teen club members decorated the streets with colourful rangolis and in the evening they light up diyas and candles along with their parents, friends and people at the community. In Ainabandha Street and Dhobabandhahuda Street the teen club members organized different programs to celebrate this diwali to end violence against children.

Teen Club members such as Liza Das, Santi Das and Puja Das took active participate and from YSD Madhusmita Patra , Anita Patra ,Mahima Pradhan and Smurti Kumari Sahu also a part of this celebration and facilitate teen club members.
