BHUBANESWAR: Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and Secretary Chief Minister VK Pandian on Wednesday visited Kendrapara, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts to oversee the COVID-19 Hospital arrangements.

Top Mandarins held discussions with the District Collectors of the districts concerned and other officers of different Departments, Chief Spokesperson Subrato Bagchi said at his briefing.

Mr.Bagchi said the farmers and farm workers have been allowed for ongoing Rabi and preparatory activities for coming Kharif season while harvesting of agricultural produce, including fruits and vegetables, is to continue with labour engagement while maintaining social distancing.

Marketing and transportation of agricultural inputs, agricultural and Horticultural products to markets both intra and interstate are permitted without any restrictions by retailers and transporters, he said adding, seeds, fertilizers, and pesticide outlets, seed processing units in both Government and Private sector may be operated, without restrictions.

Agro machinery movement/ custom hiring centres and operation need are allowed all agricultural operations, he announced.

The Chief Spokesperson said nearly 5444 children in the 5-18 age group participated in various competitions under the ‘Mo Prativa’ online competition.

As many as 269 cases have been registered by the Police in the state for violations of different regulations and guidelines related to COVID-19 of which 252 are for violation of lock down, four for violation of ‘Home Quarantine,’ three for rumour mongering and 10 for other issues.

300 persons have been arrested for different violations by the Police and 55 cases have been registered in the state for rumour mongering till date.

Mr.Bagchi said up to Wednesday noon, 2441 samples have been tested while the number of positive cases stood at 42, including 34 from the State Capital.
