BHUBANESWAR:Odisha’s eminent physician , the first Mayor of Bhubaneswar and social activist Dr Jagannath Mohapatra was honored with Chandraprava Smriti Seva Samman, sponsored by Odisha;s well-known multi-media organisation, Associated Media Foundation to facilitate print, web, and social media with news, views, features, photo-features, photographs and video footage etc.
Bijot Progya Tripathy, widely known story writer and award winning film producer was honored with Chandraprava Smruti Sahitya Samman, Vaswoti Basu, eminent stage artist was honored with Chandraprava Sanskruti Samman and Rita Patra, of Delhi who is devoted to serve the needy people of Odisha staying in and around Delhi, with Prabasi Odia Samman., in a colorful function organised at the Press Club of Odisha on March, 14. Rtd, Justice A.S. Naidu, of Odisha High Court was the Chief Guest.
Sasmit Patra, Member of Rajya Sabha from Odisha praised the efforts of Associated Media Foundation for promoting art, literature, culture and seva among the people which were the main objectives of Chandraprva Patnaik, a poet, activist, one of the leaders of National Women;s Federation founded by Bharat Ratna Aruna Asaf Ali . She was also a leader of IPTA founded by Bhupen Hazarika, A K. Hangal , Farook Sekh, Kafi Azmi etc. was also promoting culture and unparalleled service to the needy.
Justice Naidu, highlighted how Chandraprava was trying to creat awareness through her poems and activities. He said that she had courted arrest during the border dispute and was bailed out by eminent Gandhian Acharya Harihar Dash. He also praised her literary activities and servce to the humanity.
eputed poet and senior I.A.S. Bishnuapada Sethi, spoke about human aspect of Chndraprava, who had sacrificed all comforts to help the suffering and the deprived without any financial aid from Government and private agencies.
All the speakers advised the young mass to follow the ideologies of Chndraprava to build a healthy and loving society . Kedar Mishra, well known poet and Partha Patnaik coordinated the meeting.
