Chairman 5T & Nabin Odisha visits Sundargarh District

Sundargarh/Rourkela,04/01/24: As per the direction of Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha, Sri. V.K. Pandian visited Sundargarh District to review the progress of various developmental works in the district and interact with general public.
During his two days visit to the district he narrated the Chief Minister’s commitment to hold Hockey World Cup in Rourkela as a mark of respect towards Sundargarh’s contribution towards Indian Hockey*.He Interacted with the public in Sundargarh Sadar and Balisankara block and received the grievances on various issues and assured early resolution.
Since the last visit on 12th March 2023 , based on petitions and feedback, Rs 330 crores sanctioned in Sundergarh Assembly Constituency and Rs 197 Crores sanctioned in Talsara Assembly Constituency.
Pandian reviewed major development projects including Mega Lift Irrigation Projects at Semina, Riughat, Khairidihi and Satara; Mega Piped water supply schemes; Instream storage structures; important bridges etc.
Some of the major projects have been taken up after the previous visit of Sh Pandian to Sundargarh in March 2023, when he attended the grievance meetings and took feedback from the public.
In the interaction with public , he narrated that in 2019, FIH ( International Hockey Federation) announced the Hockey World Cup 2023 to be held again in Odisha. Chief Minister Patnaik insisted on second host venue at Rourkela. He said then that Bhubaneswar is the state capital while Rourkela is the Hockey capital of Odisha. FIH expressed concern that there is no hockey stadium, no hotels and no airport in Rourkela. Chief Minister said that we are committed and we will get it done. Inspite of Covid challenge and delays, the stadium, 225 room Accomodation and airport was constructed in record time. Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium was constructed in record 15 months and also achieved the Guiness book record for largest seated hockey stadium in the world. Chief Minister said that it was a tribute to Sundargarh for its contribution towards hockey in India.
During his trip he visited Samleswari Temple at Sundargarh and reviewed its development work,rReviewed the progress of development of other major temples such as Vedvyas temple at Rourkela,Shiv Temple at Ghoghar, Shiv temple at Belsara.
Based on petitions and feedback New Govt Degree Colleges sanctioned in Nuagaon, Gurundia and Kuarmunda block.reviewed the progress of ongoing Railway Over Bridge at Rajgangpur which had been pending since the last 10 years.
Since last visit of Pandian in March 2023,based on petitions and feedback, Rs 970 crores worth projects in Sundargarh have been sanctioned .
During his last visit to the district the people of the locality had requested to expedite the project. The long pending land issues were resolved and the project has been grounded.
Later, he reviewed the progress of other development projects in the district including MEGA piped water supply Projects to Kutra, Rajgangpur, Gurundia, Lahunipada, Koida, Nuagaon and Kuarmunda block ; important bridges; Synthetic Turf Hockey Training Centre at Kuarmunda, Nuagaon & Bisra Block etc.
He proceed to Rajgangpur, Nuagaon and Bonai block and received the grievances on various issues and assured early resolution and interacted with the public .
