Central University of Odisha observed Vigilance Awareness Week

Sunabeda: 4/11/2021: The valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week organized by Central University of Odisha concluded by a webinar titled ‘Independent India @ 75: Self-reliance with Integrity’. Professor of Central University, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Swachh Bharat Mission and former Director General of Election Commission of India, Prof. Akshay Raut along with Additional Superintendent of Police, Koraput Vigilance Department, Surendra Nath Panigrahi participated in the webinar as the keynote speakers. University Vice Chancellor Prof Sarat Kumar Palita presided over the programme and inaugurated the webinar and called upon everyone to be vigilant against corruption. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Raut asserted that, “internal vigilance is the value of freedom. Loyalty and honesty can aware citizens.  In his addess Mr.Panigrahi lamented about the level of corruption  around the world and the condition of our country, and pointed out various types of corruption prevalent in our country from top to bottom. He narrated how the Vigilance Department is investigating many fraud and corruption cases in Odisha. On the occasion of Vigilance  Awareness Week, an essay competition was organized among the students of the Central University. Dr. Ramendra Kumar Padhi, Acting Dean of Students Welfare and Acting Head of Education Department delivered the welcome address, while Public Relations Officer Dr. Fagunath Bhoi coordinated the program and thanked the participants.
