Central University of Odisha Launches Hindi Literacy Campaign in Nuaguda Village.
On the auspicious occasion of the World Hindi Festival, the Central University of Odisha (CUO) initiated a groundbreaking Hindi literacy campaign in Nuaguda village. The campaign, which commenced on February 5, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in discussions held during a university seminar. Led by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chakradhar Tripathi, a vibrant procession traversed from the university campus to Nuaguda village, symbolizing the university’s commitment to community engagement.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor were esteemed educators including Prof. Ram Kishore Sharma from Allahabad University, Prayagraj; Prof. Harishankar Mishra from Lucknow University; Prof. N. C. Panda, Registrar of CUO; and Prof. Hemraj Meena, Director of the Rajbhasha Kendra at CUO, Dr. Nirjharini Tripathi, Coordinator, Hindi Literacy Campaign, Faculty members, students and research scholars of the School of Languages and School of Education and Education Technology.
The primary aim of this padyatra (foot march) was to ignite interest in Hindi among the residents of Nuaguda village and encourage them to enroll in Hindi certificate courses. The objective was to empower individuals with practical language skills that could enhance their daily lives and livelihood prospects.
In a spirited meeting held at the village’s community hall, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chakradhar Tripathi engaged in a dialogue with villagers of all ages, emphasizing the significance of Hindi. Certificate course materials were distributed during the session, fostering enthusiasm among the participants. Approximately 75 individuals from Nuaguda village eagerly enrolled in the Hindi language program. Dr. Chakradhar Pradhan, Head Dept. of Hindi, speaking in the local dialect, further encouraged the participants to embrace Hindi proficiency.
