Cargo Theft Racket Busted by STF, Odisha

Bhubaneswar:The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch busted Cargo theft racket of Lam Coke on Saturday and arrested 10 persons in connection.
According to reports, the STF had got concrete clue regarding theft of Lam Cokes. Accordingly the team started search operation on the basis of reliable input.
The STF team conducted a raid at “Baba Dhabaleswara Kalia Dipu” regarding organising of cargo theft and illegal unloading costly materials. Cargo from interstate transport vehicles by miscreants by the side of NH-55.As a result of which eight trucks loaded with Lam Cokes had been unloaded. The stolen was found at the spot by the STF team during the raid.From where voluminous Lam Coke and the same was found to been loaded in other trucks for the purpose of disposal for their precautionary benefit.
Heap of such illegally unloaded Lam Cokes weighing about 32 MT along with nine loaded trucks, one JCB,some repacking materials, resealing items and other incriminating materials were seized from the culprit from spot. Total 54 metric tons of Lam Cokes were found to have been stolen and kept stored by culprits illegally for the sale purpose which cost around comes Rs.13,50,000/-.
In connection as many as 10 persons have been arrested and will forward to the court. A case been registered by STF u/s.379/411/120(B) IPC.
