BUS FROM SURAT CARRYING MIGRANTS TO GANJAM OVERTURNS AT KALINGA GHAT IN ODISHA

PHULBANI/BHANJANAGAR: One person was killed, while another was critically injured after a bus carrying stranded migrants from Surat to Odisha overturned near Kalinga Ghat on the Ganjam-Kandhamal border on Saturday at late evening.
The deceased person has suspected as Chittaranjan Sethy, a resident of Buguda but officially not yet confirmed by the district administration and the person who suffered critical injuries has been rushed to Bhanjanagar hospital for treatment.
SP, Kandhamal, Prateek Singh told scribes that three teams fire personnel from G.Udayagiri, Tikabali and Phiringia have deployed for rescue operation.The fire teams are provided special equipment to carry out the rescue operation.
Police suspected, due to the dark the bus may have wrong way up (?).The left side of the Kalinga Ghat is around 200 metres deep. As the bus got tilted to the right side of the Ghat. The injured persons all belongs to Ganjam have shifted to Bhanjanagar Hospital with police escort. Those are more critical have shifted to MKCG-MCH, Berhampur.

Similarly on the accident spot some district officials including SDPO, Bhanjanagar, and G.Udayagiri are engaged.
