Brown Sugar Mafias’ arrested by STF

Bhubaneswar:On the basis of intelligence input, a joint operation was conducted by STF, BBSR and Jagatsinghpur Police on 1/02.04.2022 near village Charmarsahi under Jagatsinghpur Town PS against illegal possession of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended three accused persons namely 1) Prasanta Kumar Behera @ Mangu S/o. Raghunath Behera Behera of Mahakalasara PS/Dist.. Jagatsinghpur , 2) Paresh Ranjan Mohanty @ Gudu S/o. Chhabi Ranjan Mohanty of Raibarai PS/Dist. Jagatsinghpur and 3) Tofan Kumar Mallik @ Tofan S/o. Surendra Mallik of Era PS. Balikuda Dist. Jagatsinghpur .
During search Brown Sugar weighing 310 gram, 02 Nos M/c and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from their possession. A case has been registered at Jagatsinghpur Police Station for necessary legal action. This refers to Jagatsinghpur Police Station Case No. 199/ 2022 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985. Investigation is on.
Special drive against drug peddlers is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 50 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin and more than 91 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna and arrested more than 133 drug dealers/peddlers.
